About Rick

Rick Edwards is a broadcaster* and writer. After graduating from Cambridge University with a degree in Natural Sciences, he got a place on a graduate trainee scheme at a TV production company. Subsequently he began his career in front of the cameras hosting music shows for E4. And from there, he swiftly became a part of the T4 presenting ‘family’.

Since then Rick has fronted a diverse range of programming for Channel 4, from game shows to movie specials and music series to sports programmes. Amongst his most recent presenting credits are That Paralympic Show on Channel 4, E4 entertainment series Tool Academy and the IAAF World Athletic Championships for C4.

Having done stand-up comedy at university and on the London circuit, Rick has recently made a tentative return to being funny – devising and starring in Rick And Peter, a sitcom pilot for C4’s Comedy Lab.

Amongst his other interests are the environment (he is a regular on the Observer Ethical Awards judging panel), fashion (hence the monthly column on men’s style for The Observer Magazine), mathematics (his mental arithmetic is impeccable), cinema (which is like film, but more European) and snooker (highest break: 32).

Rick is currently freelance** and available for most things.
